Images, they resurrect memories

I have always heard that a smell or taste can take you back to a particular place or a certain time in your life. And while I am certain it is true I know that an image can do this 10x as much. I mean let's face it, every image you take is now in the past. Every old picture you find in your

sock drawer was saved for a reason, it may be a a special birthday, a new puppy or even a loved one that has passed, but all images are saved for a reason. The key is printing those memories that are special to you, I promise the technology you are using in 2050 will not process those images from your 3.2 megabyte camera from 2005. Print & update!!

This all was brought to my attention when I saw a picture of the Old Mill Of Guilford (not the image pictured) being printed at Mastercolor today. I am not sure if the photographer was a fan of the food (Grits, Pancakes, Scones, or Hot Pickled Okra), or if they were this year's photographer in training photographing the local historical sites around Greensboro N.C ( we see hundreds each year), but I know it brought back memories to me. The Old Mill of Guilford's Yellow Grits are a MUST for my family on a weekend morning (add Neese's Sausage to the side). "The Mill" also served as a location I took a field trip when in elementary school, and more recently it reminds me of the owners (nicest family you will ever meet). Whatever the reason, this picture I saw in passing made me reflect on how good the Old Mill of Guilford has been to me, and it is an image I would like to keep as a constant reminder.

So if you want to create a great memory, visit the Old Mill of Guilford, buy a months worth of cooking goodies, take a snap shot while you are there (perfect in the Spring), and reflect on it for years to come. If you are not local, they also sell online :-).
