KEEP IT SIMPLE!!!!!
The Holidays are hectic and stressful enough without trying to design the perfect Holiday Card. Don't make this annual task more of a job than it already is. Do not get me wrong, everyone loves receiving family cards. Getting the mail (novelty these days), sitting around with family looking at how everyone has changed, putting them in the "card basket" or taping them to the wall, but then January 1st rolls around, and I would guess 99% either go in a bag and put in the attic, or they get thrown in with the trash. "Easy come, easy go".
Rather than trying to create the most complex and and the same time adorable card of your family, clustered with a dozen or so pictures of the past year, CHOOSE ONE, and showcase the best picture. Sure you can add additional images on the inside of a folded card, or on the back a a printed press card, but select the best image that your family and friends can keep in a frame for the full 12 months. "Merry Christmas" on the front??.....file it with the others in the trash can. Cute sparkles with glitter and a big snowflake??....Landfill by the time the ball drops in Time Square. A simple image on the front, and you can Snip off the end of an old school "Slimline", or cut that 5x7 right down the middle, next pop it in a frame, and your loved ones and friends finally have a picture of your family they can keep.
And by the way, kids are cute, but people that have not seen you in years want to see the parents too!
